Deep into Soul is back and for this event we bring you a very special Guest Joey Negro (Z Records)
Joey Negro is the most well-known pseudonym of master British DJ/producer/remixer Dave Lee. Under a plethora of other monikers including Jakatta, Akabu, Doug Willis, Raven Maize, The Sunburst Band, Sessomatto, and Z Factor, Dave was one of the first artists to incorporate disco samples in house music when he began his production career in 1988. Indeed, he was in the studio making credible and outstanding British House music when many luminaries around him were still busy getting to grips with their decks. In 2012 little has changed and Dave is widely regarded as one of the most commercially successful and in-demand artists on the global scene.
On this night Joey will be joined in the back room by by none other than Neil Pierce and Ziggy Funk, whilst in the front room Stephen Adams will be doing his thing.
So come and join the Tastebudz family as we bring you another memorable evening with a top line up and a great crowd who know how to party, don’t take our word for it check out our past events and photos at Facebook group Tastebudz.inc Deep into Soul.
Back II Life, back to when it was just beginning!
Friday 22nd June @ The Electric (FKA The Fridge) for the new monthly Soul II Soul night
[vsw id=”WvqKGMNACzw” source=”youtube” width=”700″ height=”500″ autoplay=”no”]
Back in 1989 when we dropped our Soul II Soul “Club Classics Vol 1†album, little did we know the album became the soundtrack of a generation, heralding a new era of creativity for the British music scene. Beyond the music there was our “a happy face, a thumping bass, for a lovin’ race†ethos, that tied together the various aspects of the movement.
Out of that came one our most significant legacies, the club nights we hosted throughout the nineties at The Fridge, Brixton – and now all this time later we’ve been inspired to return to Brixton for a regular residency at Electric Brixton, the freshly refurbished club in the original location.
“The energy at those events was incredible – a really mixed crowd would gather here – and the main purpose was to really let go and dance. There was no room for standing on the side-lines – it was an experience
We’ll be launching this Electric Brixton residency night with an old-school theme via a live performance from the Soul II Soul Sound System, featuring original grammy award winning lead singer Caron Wheeler, whose soulful vocals made tracks such as “Keep on Movin’†and “Back to Life†the instant and enduring classics that they have become.
We’re also proud to announce that on the opening night that Carl Macintosh from 80s Soul group Loose Ends has also been confirmed.

Soul heaven returns to the capital at this premier location of Electric Brixton for a series of parties. We launch our new residency with two legends Louie Vega & Paul “trouble†Anderson for what promises to be a night of true dance music.
For many of us Paul “trouble†was at the beginning of our adventure into club music. People travelled far and wide for his seminal nights at The Loft throughout the nineties & at a time before digital down load, where music was a lot harder to access, tape recordings were passed around of his off the hook radio shows on kiss FM.
Louie Vega & Paul “Trouble†have been friends since 1989. They were on the bill together for the early Sunrise and Energy events which heralded the beginning of the house era in London, then later Louie had guest spots at Paul’s HQ Loft Parties among weekly guest such as Loleatta Holloway, Jean Carne, Jocelyn Brown, Masters at Work, Tony Humphries, Rosie Gaines, Michael Watford, Darryl Pandy and Barbara Tucker to name but a few . Louie says “Paul Trouble is one of the few pioneers of house music that truly inspired me to make some of the Maw sounds I had played on keyboards at that time. His sound was deep, soulful and had a real ness to it that touched anyone in whichever room he played in, one of my Londontown heroes”. Soul heaven looks forward to bringing two of our all time heroes together for a night of great dance music.
Louie Vega, just coming off five successful sell out events at the Miami Winter Music conference is geared up to play a set filled with hot new sounds fresh from the dance floor. We are also proud to announce Soul heaven and executive producer Louie vega introduce at the party Boddhi Satvas new album entitled invocation out on BBE.
In the words of Paul himself “A house is where you live & a garage is where you park your car’! So come on down to be part of this very special night where the dance ritual meets the advance dance for what promises to be a great party.
